How Improved Breathing and Laughter helps
Research shows that laughter has an effect on blood pressure, cortisol levels (stress), increases positive emotions, boosting productivity and reduced workplace accidents and absenteeism.
Stress leads to a wide range of problems including headaches, chronic fatigue, depression, insomnia, anxiety, migraine, emotional upsets, allergies, hypertension, heart disease, vomiting and other stomach disorders. Stress also affects the immune system, which may result in long term serious illnesses. Laughter reduces stress by reducing stress hormones (cortisol) converting them into happy hormones or endorphins. More oxygen in the system stimulates the body which boosts the immune system.

The exercises invoke a playful mental attitude which enhances free expression and helps remove the masks we wear to survive. The joy from regular laughter reduces the emotional stuff, feeling on edge which shows as anxiety and depression, and the more physical disorders like pain, arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, and allergies. A hearty laugh can help improve sleep as it relaxes both the body and the mind.
Healthy people have less absenteeism, and are more likely to have a good attitude. It also boosts self-confidence and communication skills to bring about peak performance at work.
Happiness is the here and now, “I am happy to be here, doing this”, joy is what is in the heart. Joy allows us to interact with others better and enables laughter to come instead of sadness at times when things are going wrong and it is out of our control.
